Trip to Vrchlabi

Vrchlabí called the gate of the Giant Mountains, a picturesque mountain town in the upper valley of the Elbe, the natural center of the middle part of the Giant.

The history of the town Vrchlabí is inseparably linked with the history of the settlement of the Giant Mountains – the highest Czech mountain range. Czech (originally Werchlab, Vrchlab) and German name (Hohenelbe about 1518), the town related to its location on the Upper Elbe, the oldest Latin name Albipolis the Elbe and its Latin naming Albis (White) as well.
